Blythe Valley Neighbourhood Centre

Client: IM Properties
Location: Solihull, West Midlands
Value: £7.5m

Approach

The creation of a new neighbourhood centre at the Blythe Valley Park in Solihull forms part of IM Properties strategic vision to create a sustainable, mixed-use community in this area of the West Midlands where people can live and work.

The new development brings a further expansion of the park’s residential community, helping to connect the commercial and residential phases and adding the buzz of community life at the heart of the development.

Approach

Construction

The new sustainable residential development involved the design and construction of four new mixed-use buildings, which provide level access to accommodate disabled members of the community. These four brick clad, steel framed buildings comprise 48 one and two-bedroom apartments and feature renewable green technology to provide power to apartments and communal areas. 25 per cent of the accommodation will be offered as affordable housing.
Two of the ground floor buildings were constructed to accommodate modern retail spaces, along with an eatery and convenience store, creating additional jobs in the area.

Construction

Finished Build

Located on the already established park, which spans 1.2million sq. ft. and employs 3,5000 people over 25 businesses, the new neighbourhood centre provides a focal point and helps to seamlessly blend the growing residential and commercial communities at the development.
We’re pleased to have worked in partnership with G F Tomlinson as a part of our trusted supply chain to create the new neighbourhood centre as part of our ambition to create one of the Midlands’ first truly mixed-use schemes.”
