Tibshelf School, Derbyshire
The full design and build of the brand new Tibshelf Community School. The new facility had to be built to accommodate more than 750 students in a sensitive residential area. It was essential to liaise in full with the school’s neighbours to gain planning and their buy-in to the scheme. Conditions were discharged and in depth consultations were held with school staff and stakeholders to establish a design brief that would fulfill their wishes. Substantial consultation regarding furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) was also undertaken.
We invested in local employment and provided training including work experience for a local HND Construction Management student, who is now employed with us.We sponsored a year 7/8 art project which enabled students to work with a local artist to create 6 paintings which represented the history of Tibshelf from 1911 to the present day. Students were also given regular site tours and construction students from Derby College visited the site to learn about the different construction initiatives being used on the new building.
Contract Period: 80 weeks
