The County Court

This Nottingham-based project comprised the conversion and alteration of a Grade II Listed building to form licensed premises.

The management of the contract had to be carefully planned and executed because access to the building at St Peters Gate restricted the delivery of materials. Deliveries were only allowed between 7.30am and 9.15am daily.

All excavation and demolition in the cellar had to be brought up to the ground floor and barrowed out by hand.

The contract was complicated by the fact that four caves were discovered, one directly under the proposed lift shaft. This cave was fully excavated and mini piles had to be put in within a very confined area. The lift shaft was then built off the piles. The contract was completed on time.
