This £2.5m negotiated Design and Build project involved the construction of a 3 storey, steel frame, brick clad, high specification office accommodation which is now home to G F Tomlinson Building Ltd.
The internal specification includes full disabled access, passenger lift and a high degree of M&E content including computer network facilities and climate control air conditioning.
The architect Matthew Montague designed the building to a brief which demanded a modern working environment that would be traditional enough to stand the test of time, portraying an image of tradition, longevity and quality.
The building takes its architectural references from the historic mill buildings in neighbouring Darley Abbey, with the faceted aspect of the structure taking full advanteage of the buildings location.
The quality of the craftsmanship of the building and its design has been reognised with it winning two Awards
- Derby Civic Society, George Larkin, Brighter City of Derby Award
- Nottingham Building Foundation, Craftsmanship Award
