Derby Civic Society Award

Derby Civic Society, George Larkin, Brighter City of Derby Awards

Tomlinson House, home of G F Tomlinson Building Limited, was highly commended in the new build category of Derby Civic Society’s, George Larkin, Brighter City of Derby Awards. The Awards recognise new buildings and renovation projects which positively contribute to the development of the city.

G F Tomlinson has been shaping the urban landscape since the end of the 19th century so when the company decided to construct new office headquarters, great importance was attached to the design of the building.

Credit for the design of the building goes to Matthew Montague who noted that it takes architectural references from the historic mill buildings in neighbouring Darley Abbey.

The Award was collected by representatives of G F Tomlinson and MMA Design at a ceremony hosted by Derby Civic Society Patron, the Mayor of Derby, Councillor Pauline Latham, at the Mayors Reception Room of the City Council House.
