30/10/2005 - gf tomlinson heads up hse seminar

GF Tomlinson Group Limited, the Derby based Construction Company, organised a Health and Safety seminar in Derby to all their supply chain sub-contractors addressing occupational health and safety issues together with the new working at height regulations which were implemented in April 2005.

Working in collaboration with the HSE, the seminar featured Graham McLoughlin, GF Tomlinson’s Group Health, Safety and Welfare Advisor and Samantha Peace, Principal Construction Inspector of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

Graham Mc Loughlin addressed accident prevention, safe systems at work and best practices of Health and Safety to improve Health and Safety performance and raise awareness whilst also improving quality of the service. Graham stated “This was a valuable event and the feedback from those attending, was positive. Only by working well together can we achieve the objective of making the industry a safer place to work”.

The presentation by Samantha Peace focused on working at height and the preventative actions that contractors can take while working on site to reduce risks. Samantha commented “This seminar was a really good example of a construction company and the HSE working together to deliver key information to sub contractors”.
