Jubilee Project, Stoke On Trent

Approach

Design and build project which comprised the construction of a 6000 square metre factory, warehouse building and bespoke office space of 1200 metre square on two levels, which included two training rooms, a purpose built lecture theatre, cellular office space and amenities.

The project involved remediation of the brown field site and ground improvement works. The building was built on a pile foundations with concrete pile caps and beams, with a conventional double bay steel frame designed to accommodate internal cranes. The building was clad using a composite over rail cladding system. It also included the construction of perimeter concrete retaining walls over clad with brickwork and a high voltage subterranean electricity substation.

Contract Period: 40 weeks

The development is served by new access and egress roads, service yard and a 178 space car park with permeable paving and a rainwater harvesting facility.

The project incorporates the construction of the largest subterranean radiographic pit facility in the UK for the non-destructive testing of large complex alloy highly specified castings and assemblies.
