Work has started on the refurbishment of The Leicester Business Centre which will create bigger and improved office facilities and affordable workspace for local businesses.

Development work at Leicester Business Centre, 111 Ross Walk, has entered its final phase with Derby contractor, G F Tomlinson Building Limited undertaking the £750k refurbishment project.

Meeting the growing demands of budding entrepreneurs and businesses in the Leicestershire area, the project will see 12,500 sq ft of new improved office space and the creation of a new communal area including a new exhibition centre, café, meeting area conference rooms and training facilities for businesses based at the centre.

The upgrades will also include a new reception area with the formation of a large welcoming entrance with sliding doors and a ramp for DDA access.

Funding for the refurbishment comes from the European Regional Development Fund (£470,400) and the Working Neighbourhoods Fund (£279,600) which will provide 57 office units of various sizes (from 20m² to 500m²) to accommodate small and growing businesses.
