One of the largest local construction companies G F Tomlinson Birmingham Limited helps to make history as they have been appointed as a principal contractor to build the new RSPCA flagship centre and hospital at Newbrook Farm, Frankley.
The new state of the art centre will complete a successful transition from planning to reality and will support the RSPCA’s commitment to cope with the number of animals that require veterinary care and a place to stay.
The works on the 72 acre site located in the peaceful countryside began in summer 2011 and G F Tomlinson feel very proud to be working with the RSPCA.
Barry Sewards, Chairman for G F Tomlinson said: “We are delighted to use our extensive experience to construct this marvellous facility for animals in the Birmingham area where they can get all the help, attention and care that they deserve.”
The new centre and hospital boast innovative and flexible design and involves many sustainable features such as air source heat pump, rainwater harvesting and solar power generation for heating systems.
Adam Rickitt, capital appeal manager for the RSPCA is full of excitement about the new facility: "The RSPCA is so excited to be creating a new chapter in animal welfare for the whole country and we knew we could trust G F Tomlinson to deliver this moment in history.”
The works at Newbrook Farm are due to complete in August 2012.
