Peter Lewis, Senior minister of Cornerstone Church started the demolition process of the old MFI building on Castle Boulevard, with church staff and representatives of G F Tomlinson Building Limited to signal the official commencement on site of the construction works.
At the ground-breaking ceremony Peter Lewis said, “We are building for a hundred years of gospel ministry because Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.”
G F Tomlinson Building Limited have been awarded this exciting project which involves the demolition of the existing showroom and warehouse and the construction of a new state of the art building to form the new home of Cornerstone Church, Nottingham.
The new facility will provide a large auditorium to accommodate the 700 strong diverse congregation made up of individuals and families of all ages and nationalities drawn from across the City and from its two universities. The new church building will be a venue for Sunday Services (morning and evening) and will also cater for various children’s and other groups in its smaller multi-purpose rooms.
In addition to this the premises will be an administrative base for the church with office accommodation, catering facilities and storage. Visitors to the new building will also be able to enjoy the welcome area/café.

The project is due to be completed in August 2012.
