The Tomlinson Group has an Integrated Management System that links Environmental (BS EN ISO 14001), Quality (BS EN ISO 9001) and Health and Safety (OHSAS 18001) under the UKAS accredited system, giving equal importance to each other in the construction process. It deals with all aspects of Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality all under a single policy. It is a fully integrated system approved by UKAS accredited external auditors.
POLICIES
Corporate Social Responsibility
As part of our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility we use modern methods of construction wherever possible so that our construction activities have the least effect on the proximity of the area. It also extends to our staff by giving added value to their employment and also to the local communities where we work, as well as neighbouring occupants.
"On behalf of the Bonsall & Derbyshire Dales Link of Chernobyl Children Life Line, I would like to thank Tomlinson's very much once again for sponsoring our charity. As a volunteer children's charity group, we would find it very difficult to be able to keep going with our work without the support of companies like yours." Chris Broome, Chernobyl Children Life Line Charity
"I am writing to inform you that I have found Tomlinson's to have been thoughtful and have worked hard to ensure that the large construction project being undertaken has had little impact as possible on the day to day running of the school." Mrs R E Lawrence, Head Teacher, St Alban's Church of England Primary School.
POLICIES
Community care policy
Many people are affected when construction work moves into their area. They can be affected by noise, dust, fumes, additional traffic, pavement congestion and road closures, amongst other nuisance factors. However the Tomlinson Group has a Community Care Policy in place to minimise all their construction activities within the vicinity of their operations.
POLICIES
Equality
The company is an Equal Opportunities Employer and our policy is in line with the requirements of the new Equality Act 2010, which became law on the 1st October 2010. Our aim is to ensure that no job applicant, employee or other third party is the subject of discrimination, harassment, victimisation or receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation.
Our policy is continually monitored and reviewed to ensure we remain fully compliant and committed to a programme of action so that we make this policy truly effective.
